I was contacted by Lionel as part of a book project on the carnival Louviere, which will be published by the company Gilles traders, plus a photo book, a book that finally something composed of large images with a small line for the image caption.

We had 6 photographers working on the story, I was the only foreigner in folklore, one reason among others why I had been chosen: the advantage of being outside is that we have a "candid" look at folklore. In addition, in a city where almost everyone knows, it's my city I would have risked to spend more time talking with the people that make images: there was not the case. Portraits with aperitifs

When you cover this type of event ( urban aperitifs ) it is difficult to limit the pictures that you would just for oneself, one seeks to represent the evening, the atmosphere, take a maximum of people while trying to maintain a consistent and quality work and this in a relatively short period of time.

I decided from the outset to work with hot images, saturated with shallow depth of field to isolate my subjects, this guideline will be preserved for future blankets to keep a certain unity in my images.

Snaps of Graffeurs

During nine days, more than 30 graffiti artists from Belgium and abroad to create a monumental mural of 1500 m²
Once completed, the mural will be the largest in Belgium.

The fresco is located STIB Station DE WAND, 1020 Brussels, I went to take a look because I know very little about the graph and because I like to see artists evolve in their element.

Rock the city 2007

Some photos from a series produced for the festival rock the city organized by the ASBL Music Productive Parc Woluwe in Brussels among others Allan Muller, Confuse the Cat, Mineral, Sharko and Mud Flow.

The light was quite beautiful with large variations among groups, for example Sharko had almost no light front with large rear lights which made it pretty difficult portraits, a concert is of course not made to please a sensor or a movie, but the eyes and the visual spectacle was really the height of the music.

We had expected the base to make the pictures in two stages, the first to learn to know realize some pictures analyze the results to see if we agree on the choices we were in terms of composition, framing and then rendering to work on a series knowing what we wanted to achieve.

The first series, it went really well, both in terms of the contact of the images obtained, in the past I was very focused on my frames and lots of "stress" techniques. I am now trying to make the most of my work with the person asking concentrating on expressions and light.
