When you cover this type of event ( urban aperitifs ) it is difficult to limit the pictures that you would just for oneself, one seeks to represent the evening, the atmosphere, take a maximum of people while trying to maintain a consistent and quality work and this in a relatively short period of time.

I decided from the outset to work with hot images, saturated with shallow depth of field to isolate my subjects, this guideline will be preserved for future blankets to keep a certain unity in my images.

I arrived on the scene later, nonchalantly charge the batteries of the D200 it takes time ... I like to discharge the batteries thoroughly, I feel may be false as well discharged batteries better cashing charging and deliver more autonomy.

Friday it rained all day, after a heavy rain the sun finally appeared in the vicinity of 18h, stephanie site management at the center of Brussels to cover aperitifs this Friday July 20.

The place is much more cramped than last week , more complex light confitions I have more trees to filter light, the sun is directly in the early evening and hidden by the buildings in the late evening.

The TV (80/200 2.8) will be more complex to use, less recoil, people are grouped, I decided to work more 50mm to continue to play with the depth of field while being close enough to the people.

Last year I contacted Virginia organizes the urban aperitif in Brussels to create images for them.

The principle is simple appetizers, various places in the capital are landscaped for an evening, people gather around a glass, the goal: Develop a sense of belonging to the city and to encourage people to meet .

This type of event brings together elements that are relevant to my sense photographically interesting:

People in a spirit of friendliness, beautiful light (the appetizers are from 17:30 to 23h), interesting spaces with different lighting scenes, short enough to take good pictures.
