Place in Spring and new screen
April 10th, 2008
Some images from a report produced for the city of Brussels on the day "Spring Place"
14h-18h, in four separate areas of the Park of Brussels, the Circus School of Brussels
will host performances and introductions to the circus. Courses of introduction to various techniques of circus performances, music, cabaret, children's area, ...!
At 20:30, the park will be transformed into a veritable open-air tent for the "Night of the Circus." The venue will host artists and spectators will be the least original and incongruous! Program: a beautiful circus show with artists from Brussels, Walloon and Flemish, semi pro and professionals, all in a magic-estrous!
The day the weather was extremely changeable between rain and sun, the brightness was very different, which explains the rather different color temperatures, most of the portraits and photographs of artists have been performed at 85 1.4 which allowed me to isolate the rear of the plane up.
The grand opening of 85 has been very useful for photos of the evening, the artists are only very poorly lit.
As in concert to limit the maximum noise pictures were exhibited in the evening "the right of the histogram", the goal is to expose as much loan exposure without "burning" certain areas of the image, the dynamics of digital boxes still lying in the highlights. (Volker offers a very good article on the exhibition's raw format ).
It is important to regularly monitor are RGB histogram directly on the device to make sure not to burn out areas in the performance of this technique
New screen
My Sony Trinitron 24 "(50 kilos on the scales) began to give signs of great weakness (in terms of brightness and sharpness), I finally decide to change it to spend on a flat screen.
I spent a few evenings a visit online comparison; multiple sites and forums seemed to agree that the Dell 2408WFP seemed a good compromise in terms of quality and price. 's article on Jean-Francois Vibert macandphoto.com his blog has finally convinced me

The technical characteristics of the screen

- Dynamic Contrast Ratio (typical): 3000:1
- Viewing Angle (typical): 178 ° (horizontal) / 178 ° (vertical)
- Memory Card Reader: Card reader 9 in 2
- Response time (typical): 6 ms gray to gray (PVA panel)
- Screen Surface: Anti-glare
- Weight: 9.58kg

Speed of service delivery dell amazed me, I ordered the screen on the Dell website on Tuesday afternoon, the screen was delivered the next day. I apparently has an on-site warranty of 3 years and a guarantee zero dead pixels which is still very good for a screen this size.
First things that is very visible when viewing my images: The images of the site are mostly too sharpenisées, my CRT was clearly less accurate in terms of sharpness, in the future the images posted on the site will be less sharpenisées ![]()
To my surprise the dynamics of the Dell surpasses my sony tube, I made a wave with a dedicated tool calibration, this weekend will be mission calibration to the probe.

I hope he makes better colors than mine, a Dell in the same range, but the size below
Because I found it too warm colors (red and settle the suits do not always = /)
I'll Dell warranty for everything else, I've been here for ten years, and I have only one hard drive problem (plus it was my fault, but shhh

I like how you "sharpennise" all your pictures. It gives them a certain cachet
and many people, to see again in the last comments, like this picture clarity that you can sometimes reach

You make me want! I have a macbook 13 "screen and an Acer 20" and I think the macbook is more accurate but varies greatly depending on the viewing angle.
The Acer is very saturated in the blues. But everything is still on ... what you used as a probe calibration?
