Place in Spring and new screen
April 10th, 2008
Some pictures taken from a report produced for the city of Brussels on the day "Spring Place"
14h to 18h in four distinct areas of the Park of Brussels, the Circus School of Brussels
host shows and initiations at the circus. Courses of introduction to various techniques of circus shows, music, cabaret, children's area ...!
From 20:30, the park will be transformed into a veritable open-air tent for the "Night of the Circus." The venue will host artists and spectators will be the least original and incongruous! The program includes: a beautiful circus show with artists from Brussels, Walloon and Flemish, semi pro and professional, all in a magical setting-stralis!
The day the weather was extremely changeable between rain and sun, the brightness was very different, which explains the rather different color temperatures, most of the portraits and photographs of artists have been carried out at 85 1.4, which allowed me to isolate a maximum of background.
The grand opening of 85 was very useful for photos of the evening, artists being very low light.
As in concert to limit the maximum noise images of the evening was exposed "to the right of the histogram," the goal is to expose more loan exposure without "burning" certain areas of the image, the dynamics of digital boxes still lying in the highlights. (Volker offers a very good article about the exhibition of raw format ).
It is important to regularly monitor are RGB histogram on the device to make sure not to burn out areas in the performance of this technique
New Screen
My Sony Trinitron 24 "(50 kilos on the scales) began to show great signs of weakness (in terms of brightness and sharpness), I finally decide to change it to spend on a flat screen.
I spent a few evenings to visit comparisons online, several sites and many forums seem to agree that the Dell 2408WFP seemed a good compromise in terms of quality and price. 's article on Jean-Francois Vibert macandphoto.com his blog has finally convinced me

The technical characteristics of the screen

Speed of service delivery dell amazed me, I ordered the screen on the Dell website on Tuesday afternoon, the screen was delivered the next day. I benefit appears an on-site warranty of 3 years and a zero dead pixel warranty which is still very significant for a screen of this caliber.
First things that are obvious to me by viewing my images: Images of the site are mostly too sharpenisées, my CRT was clearly less accurate in terms of sharpness in the future the images posted on the site will be less sharpenisées ![]()
To my surprise the dynamics of the Dell surpasses my sony tube, I made a wave with a dedicated tool calibration, this weekend will be a probe calibration task.

I really enjoy how you "sharpennise" all your pictures. It gives them a certain cachet
and many people, to see again in the last comments, likes the picture clarity that you can sometimes reach

You make me want! I have a macbook 13 "and Acer 20" and I think the macbook is more accurate but varies greatly depending on the viewing angle.
The Acer is saturated in the blues. But everything is still on ... what you used as a probe calibration?

That the calibration? (Easy, hard, how tube)
The fact that the screen is wide gamut that does not complicate the exports and company web?
