Portraits of Celine

January 4th, 2008

celine

Some pictures of the first series with Celine, I was looking for a made both sweet and contrasted, the source is simply daylight filtered through the curtains, which gives this rendering soft shadows with little marked.

For the photo with the face facing up this is a skylight which allows me to get good exposure on the face and upper body by keeping a fairly dark background.

I used the radius objectives Nikkor 85 openings 1.4 a 1.6 and 1.8 which allows me to stay at a relatively low sensitivity (100 iso) while maintaining a speed preventing camera shake (between 1 / 60 and 1 / 250)

The metering is like 90% of a spot metering on the face with an exposure compensation of +0.7 (the D200 tends to deliberately under expose).

Radius development of my raw file, I could finally do without Photoshop, Capture One (the software I use to develop my raw files) finally allows the new version (V4) to make black and white. This new version of C1 (Capture One) will be a separate article to come in the coming days.

We can say that I waited a new series of portrait of a moment ... and then I'm in love. As the model rendering. On the pictures above, the 2 and 3 are superb. The use of the well elumière: YUM!

    Hi Ben,

As mentioned previously, I too waited a new series of portrait from you :)
The 2 and 4 are great, black and white goes very well with the series, and treatment is the hair, as I await your article on the new version of C1.

    See you soon ;)

  3. Fred Says:

To be original, I will, too, that these portraits waited impatiently. : Cool:
Personally, I particularly like the first two. The first seems the most natural. What a beautiful smile!
For others, they also very beautiful. : Lol:
    Good job, sir.

  4. Luis Says:

Superb black and white treatment, not to mention the light is beautiful.
Photo 1 and n4 are superb.

    Good luck Ben.

Thank you for your feedback, my preference is also for the second and third image in the vignette at the beginning of post for the brightness and contrast, the natural first I really like too :)

  6. Dati Says:

Skylights? What you mean by that?
It is a tool or a well of natural light that you find at the scene? :???:

  7. Benjamin | Photobie Says:

Dati, just a hole in the ceiling with a bubble of glass which gives the light that comes from above :)

  8. Dati Says:

Okay, because you hear about (all those who spoke), it seemed that this was a technique to create an artificial skylight. : Smile:

  9. Dati Says:

It's me or the photo 3 : Oops: there was a touch on the arm?

  10. Benjamin | Photobie Says:

Dati, no I think the flattening comes from the compression or blurring :)

Another great series, one with the skylight makes really good and I love the plane of the back of the bustier.

85 mm This is a real jewelry (I in 1.8 and it is already very good, then in 1.4 yum!)

    Hello,

    It's a very nice series. Beautiful B & B!
If I may, the model is very pretty but lacks a tad of expression.
The skylight makes a superb light!
    Congratulations once again!!
