Portraits of Celine
January 4th, 2008
Some pictures of the first series with Celine, I was looking for a made both sweet and contrasted, the source is simply daylight filtered through the curtains, which gives this rendering soft shadows with little marked.
For the photo with the face facing up this is a skylight that allows me to get good exposure on the face and upper body maintaining a background dark enough.
Radius objectives I used the Nikkor 85 1.4 has openings 1.6 and 1.8 which allows me to remain a relatively low sensitivity (100 iso) while maintaining a speed preventing camera shake (from 1/60 and 1 / 250)
The metering is like 90% of spot metering on the face with an exposure compensation of +0.7 (the D200 tends to under expose voluntarily).
Radius development of my raw file, I could finally do without Photoshop, Capture One (the software I use for developing my raw files) finally allows the new version (V4) to produce black and white. This new version of C1 (Capture One) will be a separate article to come in the coming days.

We can say that I waited a new series of portrait of a moment ... and then I'm in love. As the model rendering. Thumbnails above, the two and three are superb. The use of the well elumière: YUM!

Hi Ben,
As previously stated, I also expect a new series of portraits from you
The 2 and 4 are superb, black and white goes very well with the series, and the processing is spot on, I also expect your article on the new version of C1.
See you soon

To be original, I, too, that I was waiting impatiently for these portraits.

Personally, I really like the first two. The first seems the most natural. What a beautiful smile!
For others, they also very beautiful.
Good job, sir.

Thank you for your feedback, my preference is also for the second and third image in the vignette early in the post, for light and contrast, the natural first I really like too

Skylights? What you mean by that?
It is a tool or a natural skylights that you found at the scene?
January 7th, 2008 at 11:56
Dati, just a hole in the ceiling with a bubble of glass which gives the light that comes from above

Okay, for you to hear (all those who spoke), it seemed that this was a technique to create an artificial skylight.

Is it me or on photo 3
there was a touch on the arm?
January 8th, 2008 at 2:10
Dati, no I think applat comes from the compression or blurring

Another great series, one with skylight makes really good and I love the plane of the back of the bustier.
85 mm This is a real jewelry (I in 1.8 and it is already very good, then in 1.4 yum!)

Hello,
This is a very nice series. Beautiful B & W!
If I may, the model is very pretty but lacks a chouya expression.
The skylight makes a superb light!
Congratulations once again!!
