I was contacted by Lionel as part of a book project on the carnival Louviere, which will be published by the company Gilles traders, plus a photo book, a book that finally something composed of large images with a small line for the image caption.
We had 6 photographers working on the story, I was the only foreigner in folklore, one reason among others why I had been chosen: the advantage of being outside is that we have a "candid" look at folklore. In addition, in a city where almost everyone knows, it's my city I would have risked to spend more time talking with the people that make images: there was not the case. 2009 was a year with a lot of weddings (and it is not finished) As I explain on my site, what I love about weddings is the variety of situations and people who are there to share a time to party, there are many different photographic opportunities.
